Philadelphia, PA.Pace Data Systems is pleased to announce the release of the newest version of its extremely popular Account History Information System (AHIS) software. The much anticipated, new version contains several new features including:

Centralizing the User and Password control file – AHIS was originally designed to function from a centralized Client file. Users would execute this central Client to perform their research. We became aware that many installations installed a separate client on each User’s workstation pointing to a centralized Access or SQL Server database. When we incorporated user control and passwords in version 9, operating from both the centralized AHIS Client and the AHIS Clients that had been installed on each workstation became more complicated.

With version 10.0, we have separated the User and password control functions from the AHIS Client. You still must continue to maintain a centralized AHIS Client, mainly for administrative and database updating procedures, but installing a separate AHIS Client on individual workstations will not be complicated and password integrity will be maintained and simplified.

Restricting an employee from accessing the accounts of any current employee – This feature has been requested by several of our existing AHIS Users as well as some prospective Users.

AHIS is an archival system with databases reflecting activity to be researched that possibly occurred several years ago. An account holder that was an employee then might no longer be an employee. Therefore the AHIS table of employees had to reflect current employees during all research inquiries. With version 10 this table of employees is centrally located with provisions to update the table on intervals as required by the User installation.

Other – One additional feature included in this release is improvement in the logout procedure. With this release, you do not have to fully exit the AHIS system if another User wishes to logon from that workstation or you wish to return to the system later without maintaining a logon status. You may close the current research session and continue at a later time without keeping the system open.

About AHIS -The AHIS system extracts necessary and specific information from the OSI TCBS/TCCUS database prior to purging. It creates either a SQL Server or Access database that enables quick and efficient research into an account’s transactions, maintenance information and activity, as well as, certain cash box activity. That extracted data can then be purged from the TCBS/TCCUS on-line database. This permits removal of historic, less active information from the current production database resulting in a smaller on-line database with more efficient performance.

Pace Data Systems continues to improve upon the performance, capacity and content of its systems through periodic upgrades. The AHIS system was written to interface specifically with data extracted from the OSI TCBS/TCCU database
